BAD LANDS, SD July 2004
We had come into the Badlands via the East entrance. Here we are coming out of the Badlands heading generally Northwest, soon to follow the road that you can see ahead. I took this photograph as we looked down into a valley at older rock (note the redder and more yellow area --an ancient soil level) later in the day. The Badlands is a kaleidoscope of color and pattern and shapes: very pretty and very dry.
