___________________________________________ PERSONAL NOTES Moments: In a formal sense, the whole span of our individual lives could be described as a series of moments. Now the word, "moments", can refer to any objective measurement of time such as seconds, days, or years, but what I have in mind here are those periods of time or those incidents in our lives or in the lives of others which are memorable to us for some reason; hence they are subjective moments. As I have unearthed more photographs, I have been reminded of some moments that had been as buried and as out-of-sight (and as out-of-memory) as have been the photographs themselves. These moments are most probably of interest only to family or friends who share some connection to them, but there is a chance that one or two might illustrate a larger event or meaning. The "moments" that may appear on this page are pretty much due to the accident that someone took a photograph at that time. Larger and more significant moments were not recorded; so they remain buried, and perhaps at times fortunately buried. There is no attempt here at any kind of completeness nor of priority. Sheer accident is the only rule. Come to think of it --- sheer accident seems to be the general rule in life anyway, and it is violated only once in a while by a rational plan that succeeds on our first try. So, maybe the lesson is -- keep trying until the next accident turns out to be a good one.
